Kantipur Theatre presented "Meera", a stage adaptation of the celebrated novel by Deepak Sinjali, dramatized and directed by Sundar Dhital and produced by Ramesh Puri. The play draws inspiration from the life of Meera Bai, the 16th-century saint-poet renowned for her unwavering devotion to Lord Krishna.

In the production, the central role of Meera was portrayed by acclaimed Nepali actor Rekha Thapa, marking her debut on the theatrical stage after a successful decades-long film career. The cast also included Bishal Devkota as Krishna, along with Bishal Pahari, Binda Khatiwada, Geet Bista, Doresh Khatiwada, Unnata Upreti, and Sunil Khadka in significant roles.

The play was staged at Kantipur Theatre, Gairidhara, from Jestha 19 (May 29) to Asar 7, every evening at 5:30 PM except Wednesdays. Combining poetry, live music, expressive movement, and visual storytelling, Meera invited audiences into a deeply spiritual and emotionally charged journey, blending devotion, resistance, and the timeless quest for divine love.
